We are delighted to invite you for a truly unique GCN Think Tank about Deglobalisation organised, in collaboration with GCN-Partner Houthoff on May 19th, 2025 at the impressive theater of Dutch National Opera & Ballet in Amsterdam. A great opportunity to spar about this highly topical theme.
Deglobalisation is a trend driven by recent global political events such as the rise of nationalist policies, strained international relations and policy shifts towards protectionism. This event aims to bring together leading General Counsel from various industries to discuss the pressing issue of Deglobalisation and its impact on businesses and the role of the General Counsel.
Charles Smit, Associate Partner at FGS Hague Corporate Affairs and former Head of Corporate Affairs at Nexperia, will deliver the keynote. His insights will set the stage for the discussions and provide a comprehensive understanding of the Deglobalisation phenomenon.
After the keynote, participants will have the opportunity to engage in Roundtable dialogues moderated by the Houthoff Young Partner Circle (HYPC) participants. The HYPC is a group of inspiring young partners from prestigious law firms around the world. These dialogues will focus on various aspects of Deglobalisation, including the impact on international trade and business operations, legal challenges and managing geopolitical risks while ensuring compliance with evolving regulations.
Following the Roundtable dialogues, there will be opportunities for networking during the closing reception.
